Yes that's indeed true we lack the element, but it there somewhere it needs to be provoked. Not necessarily in a dramatic way, may be slow and steady but it does. Everything has its threshold and I think we are just about cross ours,now we need to speak up and I feel somewhere or the other all my countrymen stand mutual with me on this,we need to change our psyche and as far as I see it much has changed.I am still hopeful and will always be :)

you know Pakistani politics has a very sadistic humorous twist to it, it is always a source of constant amusement for me. there are so many firsts you get to see everyday but its all in the game, its in built in our psyche to look towards someone higher to solve our problems rather than to devise a solution to our own problems. even after reading your post you see the same reaction, Leave it to God, prayers, dua (though there is nothing wrong with that) but the physical element of struggle is absent and in my opinion thats where we go wrong.

lol :) ok then but either ways I do agree with fully , even I don't like ppl underestimating the people of Pakistan,and I certainly don't think dictatorship is the answer.Personally don't you think it coz of dictatorship our people have sort of fallen into an illusion that one man can wave the magic wand and fix their problems.Its as if they cant think for themselves and even if they do all they conclude is 'choro yar meray karnay say kya farq parta hai'.. really sad :).. do drop by often though :)

why thank you, its a pleasure to be here sana :) and my previous comment was not directed to you but to thought that under rate the intellect and politically understanding of our average voters.

And i totally agree with you when you say the following;

One should start believing in self empowerment, and for once in our lifetime have faith in the government for the right reasons.

Thanks ammar fro dropping by :) its nice to see u here...Also I think u got me wrong. The message that I meant to deliver was what I always say and is quite contrary to what you have perceived. I hate people when they first elect someone and then start mourning about how he has come to power but unfair means.The purpose of the post was to suggest that it if anyone is against Zardari then they have no one else to blame, but themselves. As I said I don't believe Pakistan doesn't deserve democracy , I just think our people need to be groomed more to make a choice which is more complicated then 'yes' or 'no'. Most of our people who voted for PPP did either out of the name 'bhutto' , to get rid of Musharraf or out of sympathy. This is exactly the reason why after a couple of months the anti govt feeling will rise again. Its how it rolls here, people know the power of democracy but unfortunately they have faith in people for the wrong reasons. We saw in the past how fall of PPP brought people on the roads, enchanting distributing sweets.The same again happened when PPP came bak and again when PML (n) regained power. Yet again when Musharraf came and again after he has gone.
Democracy is the right everyone reserves with themselves, but if we really want to stop people being self destructive we need to educate them. They need to understand that this is not a one man show and no messiah will come to rescue them.One should start believing in self empowerment, and for once in our lifetime have faith in the government for the right reasons.:)

I just hate the fact that when someone whine about that the majority of this country has not developed rationale thinking or the people of this country are idiots and should not be allowed to vote. I find these arguments big pile of shit. because this is one way of telling the world that that i am the only person on this land of green who is politically correct and all those who think differently are dumb, jahil and stupid.

In countries like Iran teenagers of 17 years of age exercise their right to vote. But if u ask a 30 yaer old Iraninan he will find himself more politically correct and mature in comparison but does that fact should be used to constitutionally ban those youngsters from voting? of course not.

@ sadaat : I agree with what u said , it is time to bring a change and stop neglecting our rights. Also it is time that we shed the 'illusion' that patriotism is a term only suited in books. It is OUR country and we need to sort out a way to rehabilitate it.

Anum ! that's absolutely true but we have to start somewhere. This distorted image of democracy has to fade off, there is an obvious end to everything and this shall tooo fade away.I just hope that there is something good in store for Pakistan even thought it looks far fetched right now, but we have hope. We are the youth of Pakistan and we need to realize our importance because sooner or later we will need it to get our voice heard. And don't worry sometime after our exam i ll tell u my little plan :) we can work on it together ?:) does that make u happy now ?:)

@Imran:
I like that you are being optimistic. Politics is certainly what this guy has learned 'real' well !.The way he has been playing his cards is commendable. But the fear of a normal Pakistani remains if this is all for self interest or otherwise. People have no choice but to let go and hope right now.I just wish that the country is stabilized, that indeed is of primary importance:)
