ORIGINALLY POSTED AT PRO-PAKISTAN
Endless talks of protests against American attacks have began ever since American air strikes in Pakistan’s
tribal areas. Most of us seemed hopeless of a way out, a way to retaliate. The ’shut up’ call by Gen.Pervaiz Kiyani didn’t serve its purpose, as attacks continued. Now that constant ‘negotiations’ have brought us apparently nothing, a small show of retaliation is in progress. For the first time after US strikes Pakistani jets took the skies of North Waziristan. This time not to hit suspected terrorists but to show a sense of power and dignity to the ‘true’ insurgence. The feeling is perplexed as something that was fearful suddenly became shelter for the locals. The locals welcomed the initiatives by Pakistan Air force. Not only that there have been messages from the tribal leaders of solidarity and unity to fight shoulder to shoulder.
This somehow feels reassuring, may be because at least we still have our signature unity which is only displayed in times of chaos. The unity that is only felt in grief and sorrow. So its clear now its not ignorance that’s keeping us this way. If it was ignorance one would not know the worth of uniting against the enemy. Why have we turned agaisnt our own people?. Why is it that when matters about our own people spring up we lack unity and the ability to accept things for a larger picture?. Is it not sad that we don’t require an enemy to kill us , its as if we ourselves are enough to serve the purpose. It’s complex how we have stopped gowing in life. We use our potentials to device strategies that would only be valuable for the time being. There is no sense of learning at all, no adaptibility. It continues to amaze me how simple things in life are never appreciated. We go on looking for a ‘Messiah’ , a larger mission forgetting thats there is someone right here right now who can make the difference we all need, it is the long lost patriot that still breaths in us.
